Your First Visit to Sila Dental

Welcome to Sila Dental! We’re excited to be your partners in achieving your best smile. We understand that first dental visits can sometimes be stressful, and you may have questions about what to expect. That’s why we’ve designed a process that prioritizes your comfort every step of the way.

As our patient, we’re committed to understanding your unique smile goals. During your first appointment, we’ll listen carefully to your smile goals and any questions you have about your oral health. We’ll then conduct a thorough exam, gently assessing your teeth, gums, and overall oral health to create a personalized care plan.

Welcome and Preparation

From your very first phone call, our team is dedicated to making you feel welcome. We’ll handle the paperwork beforehand, send necessary forms electronically and check your insurance coverage (if applicable), so your visit is focused on your care. Our friendly staff will greet you warmly, offer refreshments, and give you a tour of our office. We even provide extra amenities to ensure your comfort while you’re seated.

Thorough, Comfortable Exam

Our warm and caring hygienists will start by introducing themselves and welcoming you to our office. Dr. Ebrahim will also stop by to say hello and explain the next step – a thorough exam that includes digital images to get a clear picture of your dental health.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Our hygienist will begin by taking a complete set of digital X-rays and charting your gum health (perio charting). This allows us to assess your overall oral health and identify any potential issues. To further enhance your experience, we’ll use a complimentary iTero scan to create a digital 3D model of your teeth. This allows for a more precise examination and helps us track changes in your oral health over time.

Dr. Ebrahim’s Examination and Consultation

Once the hygienist completes the initial evaluation, your dentist will review the X-rays and gum health chart. During this process, our dentist will also screen for oral cancer and gum disease, making sure to evaluate every detail. Depending on your needs teeth cleaning (prophylaxis) might be recommended. If gum disease (periodontitis) is present, we will explain the condition in detail.

Teeth Cleaning and Personalized Treatment

Our hygienist will thoroughly clean your teeth to remove plaque and tartar, preventing decay and gum disease. Next comes your personalized consultation with the dentist and their assistant. This typically takes about 20-30 minutes and will cover everything you need to know about your oral health. We’ll thoroughly review your dental findings and answer all your questions. If any additional care is necessary, we’ll work together to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Our friendly front office team will be happy to assist you with scheduling follow-up appointments, discussing fees, and exploring any payment options that work best for you. Our goal is to make you feel at ease and confident in your dental care journey every step of the way.
